Reflections on building in public, making architectural bets, and staying grounded when the problem space expands.
Over the past few months of building, iterating, and shipping, three core truths have solidified in my mind:
1. Architecture Dictates Experience You cannot slap an elegant user interface on top of a fragile foundation. The latency, reliability, and data flow of your backend inevitably leaks into the user's perception of your product.
2. Restraint is the Ultimate Luxury Features are easy to write and almost impossible to remove. The hardest part of product building is saying no to good ideas in order to protect great ones.
3. Build for Humans, Not Metrics If your product treats users like data points to be optimized, you will build a casino. If you treat them as capable human beings with finite time on earth, you will build an enduring institution.
Stay in the loop on building what's next.
